Where is Waldo?

Most of us know of the children’s book, “Where’s Waldo?”. There is a picture and setup at the beginning of book which makes it easy to spot Waldo in the pictures that follow. You know what you are looking for when you try to spot Waldo.

Earlier this week, I saw Jeff walking back from the woods along the tree-line. He was dressed in his stealthy camouflage gear and yet, I was able to spot him. He was coming back from a hunt and was getting ready to bring his kill back from the woods. Apparently, his camo is good enough for the animal, should it not have worked on me too?

To point out the obvious, I am a woman and we have this innate God-given ability to find anything. However, in this case I was able to spot Jeff because of 3 reasons.

  1. It was around the time, he returns from his hunting trips.
  2. Familiarity with his height, way he walks and how he carries himself.
  3. I was watching for subtle changes in the tree-line. I knew what to look for.

If you are seeking God, you want to look for grace, mercy, perfection, love, purity, generosity, kindness, righteousness and all the goodness in the world that exists only due to Him.

So, what are you looking for, Christian? Jesus said that you will find what you seek.

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

Matthew 7:7-8

Scripture tells you who He is and how to find Him. Spend time in scripture and Jesus will come to life. His characteristics, behaviors, likes and dislikes will become apparent.

Pray incessantly and He will stand out in your daily walk. Your eyes will be opened to the goodness He bestowed upon you. You will be able to experience the fruit of the Spirit through gratitude and rejoicing in everything.

16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Know that He is waiting patiently to grow nearer to You. He is omnipresent, you do not need to look too far.

If I ascend into heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.

Psalm 139:8

Not hard to find Him. Know Him, praise Him and feel loved.

Dear God,

I love You. Thank You for making Yourself apparent to me. I cherish the journey that brings me closer to You. Please keep my eyes and ears open to You and Your commands. In Jesus name I pray. Amen!
