We the “Christian” people

Going to church is tied to Christian holidays as opposed to a way of life in our current time and age. I hope this will turn around, because being part of a church community is one of the crucial aspects of being a good Christian.

I know Christians who refrain from being part of a church because they were offended, do not like how things are run or do not trust others and their judgements. In my mind, we are obligated to find a church family and start behaving like a family.

‘Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, 21 in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, 22 in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.’

-Ephesians 2:19-22

Paul explains clearly that the concept of a church is important for spiritual growth. When we as humans have a purpose outside of ourselves, we grow and flourish. Family is good for us, teaches us that we need to stop being focused on ourselves and be part of something bigger and better.

We hold each other accountable, we learn new things together, we set standards, we learn to live, love and laugh. We support each other in times of trouble, and we rejoice in each other’s victories. we are together, fighting off evil and bonding, giving glory to our Lord and Savior.

‘For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”’

-Matthew 18:20

We are all bestowed with gifts and talents, when we use them for greater good, everyone benefits, including us. Do not limit yourself to your family, share with your church family. Treat them like you would your own family. Be honest, love and let them love you back. Beckon the Holy Spirit to guide and lead, set your ego aside and learn to work shoulder to shoulder with people who are different for you. I promise you that it will be an amazing experience that will change your life and the lives around you. Do not let a few bad apples take away the joy of having a true Christian family.

How can we execute on the commands given to us by Christ if we do not have a forum? Churches can organize missions, reach out to the needy, feed the hungry, help the poor. There is strength in numbers and success in different minds working together as one.

I pray that you find a church that suites you and help you become a member of the bride of Christ. God Bless you!

Dear God,

Help me partake in building a church family that glorifies You, serves You and has the best interest of Your children. Fill our church with the Holy Spirit and guide us to execute on Your commands with togetherness, love and compassion. May we put You before ourselves. I pray all this in Your Holy name, Jesus. Amen.
