Successful mission

Jesus delivered. He was born on earth; the Bible does not tell us who made the decision to send Jesus to earth. John Milton in Paradise Lost muses that Jesus volunteered. All speculations aside, there was a plan and He jumped in. He was born, He suffered, was crucified, died and He rose from the dead, resurrected to give us hope and joy forever.

We see Him as a meek, loving, humble, healing, compassionate savior. He is many things to many people, a teacher, the high priest, Rabboni and the list goes on. I want to talk about Jesus as the one that delivers today. He fulfilled the prophesies and kept God’s promises.

What was His mission? Create a pathway for all of God’s children back to God. He did it. He gave us the way and the light. He gave us Himself.

‘Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’

John 14:6

Our Savior kept His word. He did not back down even with the foreknowledge of what was going to happen to Him. His obedience to God and love for us was greater than His unwillingness.

‘ And He said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will.” ‘

-John 14:36

Sometimes we tend to forget who our Lord is. Hopefully, this will work as a reminder that a strong and meek warrior pulled you out of the deadly grip of evil and set you up for a joyful life of eternity where tears and sorrow will never ail you.

‘ And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” ‘

-Revelations 21:4

Now, pause to see whatever you are in the midst of, be it pain, suffering, sorrow, heartache, stress or loss. Remember, He who keeps His promise has the perfect plan for you. Trust and release it all to Him.

‘ For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. ‘

-Jeremiah 29:11

Dear Jesus,

Thank You for loving us so much. Please help me keep my mind on You today and let You take control of my life. I trust You and submit to Your goodness. You have absolved me of all my transgressions, and You are transforming me into the perfect image of Yourself. May I glorify You all day long. Amen.
