Where do you derive your strength from? When the storm of life hurls you into the throes of despair, how do you keep your calm and stay resilient?

When you know who is on your team and what strengths they bring to the table, a vision morphs into reality. We apply this principle to almost everything, team sports, organizing a party, employing hired help and in our professional lives. So, why would our spiritual life be any different?
“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
-Romans 10:17
When you spend time in scripture, pay attention to the character of God. In prayer, when you are counting your blessings, pay attention to what He has done. His omnipotence will come to life. His faithfulness will be underscored and His everlasting love for you will become prevalent. Now, remember He is your war captain.
When you are fighting any sort of bad, evil, hard situation, He is there with you. He is leading you as any good war captain should, learn to follow and listen to instructions. Some orders will come as a whisper, some as a nod and some as a command barked, loud and clear. Just follow, derive your strength from the one who is leading.
Let it sink in. The Almighty is leading you as your war captain. The one that never lost a battle and will never lose one. Follow and be led to victory. The one that conquered death is your source of resilience.
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
-Joshua 1:9
Dear Jesus,
You who conquered death are my war captain. I have nothing to fear, teach me how to follow you and give me the ability to hear your orders while you safely take me to the shore of resilience. Thank you for leading me through life’s ups and downs. Amen!
