Have you had a day that was so packed with action that your heart, head and soul feel exhausted at the end of the day? I had one of those days yesterday, but it was strangely peaceful. There was too much happening, loved one in pain, visitors, work, car confusion, dogs need attention. But do not feel sad for me. The entire time, I was under His wing, safe and protected. My brothers and sisters in Christ interceded and God made miracles happen.

For those of you who believe in pre-destiny, please do not read this as anything outside of our creator’s love for us. I am not sure how prayers work if God already planned the outcome, I also do not know that He would change His mind just because we prayed for something. So, let’s park that for a second and look at it this way. God knows what is best and He puts the prayers in the hearts of the ones that intercede. The outcome is always favorable, even though it may not seem like it at the moment.
‘Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.‘
-Mark 11:24
To articulate this thought clearly, I have to tell you what happened this morning. I had to rush a loved one to the ER. I prayed and asked my brothers and sisters in Christ to pray. They prayed and a peace came over me and my husband that transcends any explanation. To top it all, the outcome was a miracle. The best solution to what could have been a worst situation. We were blessed, God’s ever protecting wings took us into His fold and comforted us.
‘He shall cover you with His feathers,
-Psalm 91:4
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.’
But sometimes it feels like prayers do not work because the outcome is not favorable. We are drowned in sorrow or hurt from the seen, from our understanding of right and wrong. It does not mean prayers do not work, the strength that comes from God’s presence cannot be minimized. We were fortunate to be waited on by a Christ loving nurse. He was telling us about how much more atheists suffer when they are going through similar situations.
One last thought on this topic. Per John, Jesus wept when His friend died and in Luke, when he foresaw the suffering of Jerusalem.
Now as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it,
-Luke 19:41
‘Jesus wept.’
-John 11:35
God hurts for us because He loves us. When we are going through pain and suffering, He is with us. He has to let the outcome be what it needs to for our good, not the greater good. He does not sacrifice us like He did His son. We are free and our outcomes are always good, even though to the seen it appears bad. Trust in Him and bask in His love. God Bless You.
Dear God,
Thank You for the prayers warriors You placed in my life. Bless them and open their hearts to the love You have for them. May they cherish the closeness with You and the freedom to come to You with petitions that only You can fulfill. May they bring You abundant glory. Amen.
