Faith and Trust

Faith in Jesus and trust that He will always come through are important for His followers. We have to believe and trust in what we cannot see.

In the Bible, Jesus talks about our need to see miracles in order to believe – John 4:46-54. Why do we need to see to believe? As kids we do not need reasoning and proof, trust is unconditional. Somehow it gets squeezed out of us.

Trust is Faith being acted out. As followers of Christ, we should have faith in God so we can trust that He will protect and preserve us.

When we are conditioned to only receive the tangible, how can we unlearn it? How can we learn to receive the intangible? How do we become like the blessed ones that Jesus expects us to in John 20:29

“Jesus said to him, ‘Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.’”

-John 20:29

We were created by the omnipotent God Almighty, He is not of this world. We were made in His perfect image, which means we should not conform to anything which is contrary to what the Bible expects of us. Trust is what you do not see, this is an innate trait we posses and we have unlearned it. Let’s go back to our God-intended state, ask God to give us faith and trust Him unconditionally.

Dear Jesus Christ,

My Lord and Savior. Bless me with a clean heart and faith that only you can grant. Turn my heart of stone into a heart of flesh, one that adores You and worships You with the fervor befitting you. Lord, hear my prayer. Amen!
