Many years ago, I was invited by an acquaintance to a soiree. She was celebrating her father’s achievement. There were a little over 30 guests, food was catered, drinks were flowing. It was a good time. While we were in the middle of stuffing our faces when she called our attention to the reason for the celebration.
Her father was a scientist. His achievement was that he was mentioned in a book of scientists. This book had names and the title of their work. This book had thousands and thousands of names, it was a compilation of scientists over the decades.
That was it, she did not tell us what his work was about, she stood there beaming at a few letters printed in a big book. Why was she so happy that she needed to celebrate what seemed so trivial? To top it all, he was not even there. Maybe she was aware of how hard he worked for getting his name published? No, she was not clear on what the research was about or what the process entailed. She was just proud of him.

While I was talking to Father Almighty today, I remembered that evening from decades ago. Why do I not celebrate our Father with the same fervor. He has accomplished a great many things that we know of. I think the creator of the universe can have a few mentions here and there.
His accomplishments are way beyond our understanding and deserve laurels that we cannot conjure up. Can you imagine how life would be if we all celebrated Him? Life would be a series of unending soirees and parties. We would be joyful all the time. Maybe instead we can praise Him all day, every day.
Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.
