The path is lit by The Word

Do you wonder why you struggle with sin even after accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior? Have you taken time to let The Word morph you?

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
A good understanding have all those who do His commandments.
His praise endures forever.”

Psalm 111:10

Wisdom is following God’s commands and staying aligned with His will. Knowing God and loving Him more than anything/anybody in the world will automatically make us want to listen to Him. It is easy to love God when you know Him.

Once we start listening to Him, we start enjoying the fruit of the Spirit, become the one we are born-again to become, an image of our perfect maker.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.”

Galatians 5:22-23

Seems easy on the surface, but when we are confronted with that annoying person (we all have at least one of those in our lives) where does the gentleness and self-control recede? It is work in progress. I am hopeful that by dutifully following the instructions in Jeremiah 29:13 and Isaiah 58:2, that one day I will be able to see the goodness of the maker in all my fellow children of God.

“And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.”

Jeremiah 29:13

“Yet they seek Me daily,
And delight to know My ways,
As a nation that did righteousness,
And did not forsake the ordinance of their God.
They ask of Me the ordinances of justice;
They take delight in approaching God.”

Isaiah 58:2

When we seek Him, we delight to know His ways. A veil is lifted, wisdom is granted and joy fills the heart. The pathway is lit and following becomes easy, trust grows and darkness seems far way. Nothing is scary anymore. No one can harm a child of God who is filled with a desire to be His good and faithful servant (Matthew 25:23).

Dear Jesus,

I seek You with all my might. Make Yourself known to me please. Take away the foolishness that stops me from knowing Your goodness. Let me be indebted to You forever. Teach me to be your good and faithful servant. Amen!
