Pray & Wait

The best gift you can give another person is to pray for them. And the greatest prayer of all is asking God to change their heart from stone to flesh. Having God in our lives is the most fulfilling thing there is — not because of what we receive, though His goodness is abundant, but because He fills that God-sized hole in our hearts that nothing else can.

I am thankful for the many prayer warriors in my life. Someday I hope to know who prayed for my heart to turn to flesh, I owe them more than I know. Thank God for the blood of Christ and thank God for the prayer warriors.

For those of you who have been reading my blogs, you know that my solution to all problems is to pray. Here is one of the many powerful verses from the Bible that should convince you.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

-Philippians 4:6-7

These thoughts found a home here today because someone came to me for prayer, and I have been praying. But I will caution, our job is to pray and let God work at His own time in His own way. We cannot fill the time between when we pray and the outcome with worry, concerns or action. In other words, do not pray and then open the door for Satan to kill the peace that prayer brings. Trust and let go.

casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”

-1 Peter 5:7

Finally, sometimes after waiting the outcome may not be what you expected, continue to trust because our Lord loves us more than we love ourselves, He will give us the best outcome.

11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!”

-Matthew 7:11

Dear God,

You are always there to provide and protect. Teach me to wait patiently for Your will to be done. Grant me peace while I wait and with the gifts You shower upon me so generously. I ask in Jesus’ name. Amen.
